The Rape Exception

The pro-life movement is divided on the issue, with 59% of self-described pro-lifers stating abortion should be legal in cases of rape.

Some pro-lifers believe that the situation surrounding conception is not what gives a fetus value and that abortion should still be illegal in these cases. Others would say that the value of the fetus is not the only relevant factor in abortion; factors such as bodily integrity and moral responsibility changes in pregnancies resulting from sexual violence, meaning abortion should be legal in these cases.

Pro-Life SF includes leadership and members of both mindsets. Read more about this debate in the Related Articles.
